Iniscape
Iniscape Review In development

Code review that keeps up.

A desktop application for reviewing pull and merge requests across GitHub and GitLab. Everything waiting on you in one place, diffs that open the moment you ask for them, and a keyboard path through the whole change.

Iniscape Review is not released yet. Tell us what you review today and we will write to you when there is a build worth trying.

What it does

One window for everything you have to read.

Both hosts, one place

Pull requests from GitHub and merge requests from GitLab in a single app, sorted by whether they are yours, assigned to you, or merely mention you.

Diffs without the wait

Native rendering over data that is already on your machine. Changing file, revision or review is immediate - there is no page to load.

The shape of the change

Files, commits and the diff visible at the same time, so you can see what a change actually touches before you start reading it line by line.

Comments on the line

Write against the exact line in the diff you are looking at. Threads stay with the code they refer to, and drafts survive a restart.

Keyboard all the way through

Next file, next comment, next review, approve, request changes. A full pass over a change without reaching for the mouse.

Windows, macOS and Linux

A real desktop application on each of the three, not a web page in a wrapper - and it respects the conventions of the desktop it is running on.

How it works

Connect, read, decide.

Connect

Sign in to GitHub and GitLab. Iniscape Review gathers what is waiting on you across every repository you work in, and keeps it current.

Read

Open a change and it is simply there - files, commits and diff at once. Move through it at the speed you can read, not the speed a page can load.

Decide

Comment, approve or ask for changes. It lands on GitHub or GitLab as an ordinary review, so nobody else has to change how they work.

Why now

There is more code to read than there used to be.

A growing share of what arrives in a pull request was not typed by a person. The bottleneck has moved from writing code to reading it - and reading is the part the usual tools are slowest at.

Built for volume

Every interaction is measured in a keystroke, because you will be making thousands of them.

Overview first

A large change should be legible before it is read. You should never have to reconstruct it from a list of files.

Nothing between you and the diff

No tab to find, no spinner, no scrolling a page to reach the thing you came for.

Be there for the first build.

Iniscape Review is still in development. Tell us where you review today: GitHub, GitLab or other. We will get in touch when there is something to put in front of you.
